Some skills just can't be learned in a one-on-one setting. Many of our children are learning how to work in a group, or need more support than what they'd receive in a mainstream group setting. At Early Bird Therapy, we structure our groups to make sure every child is successful and provide the staffing levels to ensure everyone is learning and having a great time.

While we don't work on "social skills", a small group is a great place for children to explore friendships and teamwork. All of our groups are run by qualified Allied Health Professionals (OTs, Speech Pathologists, or Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners) and supported by our Allied Health Assistants.

Our NDIS participants usually use Capacity Building Supports (Improved Daily Living) to work towards their NDIS goals in the groups.
​Kid's Club
Kid's Club is designed to boost confidence and enhance group skills for children in a supportive and nurturing environment. Our main goal is to create a safe space where children can actively participate and have positive interactions with like-minded peers. We do fun activities like cooking, science experiments, painting, gardening and more, and our kids are in charge of the direction our group takes.

Our kid's club participants are usually 6-12 years old. There are usually between 4 and 8 kids in a Kid's Club with 2-3 staff members. We increase our staffing levels if the group dynamic requires it, and parents/carers do not usually sit in on this group.

Little Chirpers

Little Chirpers is a music and puppetry program designed to foster engagement and play skills. With live music and puppet friends, this program caters to all special interests and developmental stages. Little Chirpers is designed so all brains and bodies can join in the fun.

1. A carer or trusted grown up is required to attend with the participant.
2. Siblings are welcome, if they are interested in learning how to engage with their siblings.
​
Our Little Chirpers Program is designed for children who are yet to start kindergarten and we usually maintain a ratio of one therapist to two children.

Circus
​Join us for a group designed to promote movement and sensory regulation through tumbling, spinning, jumping and manipulations. Watch your child bring new skills to life and create memories with like-minded peers. This group will help the kids discover the magic of moving their bodies one trick at a time. Come step into the world of circus!

Our circus group is aimed at children aged 5-8 years old and parents/carers do not usually sit in on this group, however they are more than welcome to if participant requests. Please note, we do change our ratios according to the needs of our learners, but usually work on a 2:1 ratio.​

Cost: $350 (children attend all sessions in the school holiday block)

Super Mario
​
This social group is focused on all things Super Mario Bros!
​
From racing on the big screen with Mario Kart to creating themed craft, these young adventurers can embrace the fun and teamwork of Super Mario!

We typically maintain a ratio of one therapist to two children, and parents can choose whether to stay in the group or leave for a short while. This group is open to any children aged 4-8.
​
Cost: $380 (children attend all sessions in the school holiday block)

Beauty Spa​
Our Early Bird Beauty Spa is designed to provide your child with a safe and supportive environment where they can explore and develop their fine motor skills with like-minded peers. Your child will have the opportunity for new sensory experiences which may include blowing bubbles and splashing in water at our Barbie doll Hair Salon, choosing the brightest, glitteriest colours for their manicures and getting to spend time with peers of similar ages and interests.
Not only will they be offered a fun specialised spa experience, but they will get to provide one too. The Barbies are already booked in for their beautiful hair treatments.
The Early Bird Therapy day spa will have two sessions, one for 3–6-year-olds and another for 7–12-year-olds. Each session is planned appropriately to the age group. Whilst we typically work on a 2:1 ratio, we strive to provide the best support for our learners and so these ratios are carefully considered and adjusted as required.
Cost: $190 per session
Time: 9:30am-11:00am (3-6 year olds)
Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm (7-12 year olds)
